Abstract

Sementoppslemming omfattende en base for å redusere virkningen av en alkalisk løsning kan bli plassert i en brønn og gitt anledning til å stivne. Basen kan omfatte et metallkarbonat som er løselig i vann så som kaliumkarbonat. Sementoppslemmingen kan også inkludere sement, vann og et salt som er løselig i vann så som kaliumklorid. Den alkaliske løsning kan være til stede i formiatbaserte borevæsker fortrengt inn i en brønn foran sementoppslemmingen. Til tross for at sement-oppslemmingen kommer i kontakt med en slik alkalisk løsning, er tykningstiden lang nok og stivningstiden kort nok til at sement-oppslemmingen er egnet til å innføres i et ringrom i en brønn. Tykningstiden er typisk fra omtrent 4 timer til omtrent 16 timer, og stivningstiden kan være mindre enn omtrent 24 timer.
