Abstract

Et system for utnyttelse av naturgass for sikker tilveiebringelse av større mengder (minst 30 megawatt) elektrisitet til forbrukere. Systemet innbefatter en flytende genereringsfarkost (102) som ligger offshore og bærer ett eller flere turbingeneratorsett (114, 116) som benytter naturgass som brensel og hvis elektriske leveranse leveres gjennom en kraftkabel (120) som strekker seg i det minste delvis i sjøen frem til en forbruker. En forbruker er en behandlingsfarkost (112) som behandler naturgass og som har overføringsanlegg (68) for overføring av flytendegjort gass til eller fra et tankskip (106) som tar mer enn 10000 tonn flytendegjort gass. Noe av gassen overføres fra behandlingsfarkosten gjennom en ledning (106) i sjøen til en genereringsfarkost (110), for å tilveiebringe brensel. En annen forbruker er et anlegg (52) på land.
