Abstract
Grunne borrefarer så som karster, huler, hulrom og ikke-konsoliderte diskontinuiteter som kan være en betraktelig risiko for leting og utvikling av brønnborreoperasjoner påvises ved bruk av seismiske refraksjonsdata hvorpå en serie av analyser av vesentlige egenskaper utføres, hvor de resulterende dataene videre prosesseres for å frambringe en tredimensjonal visualisering. Refrakterte bølgestråleveier blir svært forvrengte av å møte på et karstlandskap med forekomst av tilbakespredende absorpsjon. Den resulterende energien som målt ved overflatemottakere blir betraktelig redusert når sammenlignet med brytningsbølger nedtegnet av andre mottakere hvor ingen karsting er tilstedeværende.
