Abstract

Etanolproduksjon fra biomasse kan gjøres mer effektiv ved anvendelse av minst én sopp eller en blanding av sopp i stand til å fermentere pentoseforbindelser eller både pentose samt heksoseforbindelser. Fortrinnsvis er den minst ene soppen en som tilhørende arten Chalara sp., eventuelt anvendt i kombinasjon med en andre sopp tilhørende arten Trametes sp. Fortrinnsivs anvendes soppen eller soppene i kombinasjon med andre fermenterende mikroorganismer slik som gjær for eksempel Saccaromyces cerevisiae.
