Abstract
Oppfinnelsen beskriver et produkt og en fremgangsmåte for å produsere elektrisk kraft direkte fra kjernekraft. Oppfinnelsen beskriver særlig bruken av en flytende halvleder som et middel for effektiv omforming av kjerneenergi, enten kjernespaltings- og/eller strålingsenergi, direkte til elektrisk energi. Direkte omforming av kjerneenergi til elektrisk energi oppnås ved å anbringe kjernemateriale nær en flytende halvleder. Kjerneenergi som avgis fra kjernematerialet, i form av spaltingsfragmenter eller stråling, går inn i den flytende halvleder og danner elektron-hullpar. Gjennom bruk av en hensiktsmessig strømkrets koples det inn en strømbelastning, og det produseres elektrisk energi som følge av dannelsen av elektron-hullpar.
