Abstract

Det beskrives en fremgangsmåte for å bestemme belastningsdelingen som en ruter bør anvende på sine utgående linker for trafikk til hver destinasjon. Den er basert på linkvekter og -lengder av korteste veier som beregnes av ordinære IP-rutingsprotokoller. For å avgjøre belastningsdelingen på de utgående trafikklinkene til en bestemt definisjon t, beregner ruteren n et uttrykk som er avhengig av linkvekten wa , for utgående link og differansene å avstandene fra n til t og den fra den tilstøtende ruteren na til t . Uttrykket avhenger også av en parameter a mellom 0 og 1 slik at en lavere verdi vil tillate flere alternative veier. Belastningsdelingen som gjennomføres av ruter n blir da å dele trafikken for destinasjonen t på de utgående linkene i forhold til de beregnede verdiene.
