Abstract
Ved hjelp av den foreliggende løsningen, er en trådløs datatransmisjon muliggjort mellom et skip (L) som seiler til sjøs og et landbasert telekommunikasjonsnettverk (N). Løsningen involverer utnyttelse av mikrobølgeradiolink mellom skipet og den landbaserte basestasjonen (BSI, BS2, BS3, BS4). Nettverket (N) opprettholder informasjon om skipets rute (R) slik at basestasjonen (BS I, BS2, BS3, BS4) vet når skipet (L) nærmer seg sitt område (CAI, CA2, CA3, CA4). Følgelig vet skipet (L) hvilken basestasjon (BSI, BS2, BS3, BS4) den nærmer seg. Den nøyaktige transmisjonsretningen blir bestemt ved hjelp av et gyroskop og i GPS-lokasjonen til skipet (L).
