Abstract
Sammendrag Det omtales en fremgangsmåte for å karakterisere en suspensjon med partikler som flyter deri, hvilken fremgangsmåte omfatter trinnene med å generere et akustisk aktueringssignal og å registrere et akustisk, reflektert signal. Videre blir et første datasett beregnet på basis av det reflekterte signalet, datasettet inneholder informasjon som representerer en autokorrelasjonsfunksjon som en funksjon av tid til det reflekterte signalet. Derpå blir de første datasettene kombinert inn i et andre, kumulert datasett, som representerer en sum av autokorrelasjonsfunksjonene som korresponderer med de første datasettene. Tilslutt blir en representasjon av en partikkelstørrelsesdistribusjon bestemt ved å løse denne representasjonen fra et uttrykk for det andre, kumulerte datasett uttrykt ved representasjonen av en partikkelstørrelsesdistribusjon.
