Abstract
I en særlig utførelse utføres kommunikasjon mellom en mobil enhet og en basestasjon i et trådløst kommunikasjonssystem ved en dataoverføringshastighet som for eksempel velges fra et endelig sett slike hastigheter innenfor et HDR-system som angir at det dreier seg om store overføringshastigheter. I mellomtiden beregner den mobile enhet kontinuerlig et bevegelig gjennomsnitt av hastighetene og sikrer dessuten at det brukes en hastighet, som kan håndteres ved mottakingen av data. Denne håndterbare hastighet kan velges fra et tilsvarende endelig sett HDR-hastigheter. For å opprettholde det bevegelige gjennomsnitt innenfor et bestemt område sender den mobile enhet forespørsler om maksimal datahastighet og null overføringshastighet til basestasjonen, og den maksimale hastighet det forespørres om må da være mindre eller lik den håndterbare hastighet.
