Abstract
In a structural element in the form of a glued wooden beam (6) with prestresses reinforcement at least one reinforcing element (7) is provided in one or more longitudinal grooves (8) which extends parallel with the side edges of the beam (6) and preferably across the whole length of the beam. The at least one reinforcing element is formed by a reinforcing moulding compound which is provided in the grooves (8) with the glued wooden beam (6) prestressed in the cross direction towards the top surface, whereafter the reinforcing moulding compound is hardened and prestressed in compression when the glued wooden beam is relieved. Correspondingly also the bottom surface of the beam can be provided with at least one reinforcing element (7') of this kind, provided in a similar manner to the at least one reinforcing element (7) of the top surface, but prestressed in tension. The glued wooden beam (6) hence becomes reinforced symmetrically on two sides. The reinforcing moulding compound can be a hardenable composite material, a hardenable polymer or ceramic material and may in each case comprise a reinforcing additive, preferably in the form of fibres.
