Abstract

Foreliggende oppfinnelse omhandler en katalytisk delvis oksidasjons (CPO) prosess med forbedret antennelse omfat- tende: (a) antenne et antennelsesråmateriale omfattende hydrogen, fortynningamiddel og oksygen i et katalytisk del- vis oksidasjonssjikt hvori antennelsesråmaterialet har en forutbestemt adiabatisk reaksjonstemperatur tilstrekkelig til å forårsake at katalysatorsjiktet antennes på en måte som forhindrer at katalysatorsjiktet undergår termisk sjokk, (b) modifisere antennelsesråmaterialet etter anten- nelsen av katalysatorsjiktet for å oppnå et reaksjonråmate- riale omfattende oksygen og hydrokarbon-reaktant i et mo- lart forhold som er i stand til å produsere delvis oksida- sjonsprodukter i katalysatorsjiktet under delvis oksida- sjonsbetingelser, hvori modifikasjonen av antennelsesråma- terialet utføres for å oppnå en forutbestemt oppvarminga- hastighet av katalysatorsjiktet og, hvori mengden fortyn- ningsmiddel tilstede i løpet av modifikasjonen er tilstrek- kelig til å kontrollere den adiabatiske reaksjonstemperatu- ren.
