Abstract
Oppfinnelsen vedrører en forsterker for HDSL-transmisjon. Forsterkeren erstatter regeneratoren som vanligvis benyttes i HDSL ved å utnytte aktiverings/deaktiveringsprosessen i HDSL-spesifikasjonen. Forsterkeren er tilpasset til å de- tektere en aktiverings/deaktiveringssekvens, hvorved en flipp-flopp i forsterkeren alterneres. En første tilstand i flipp-floppen gjør at transmisjon passerer gjennom forster- keren til termineringspunktet, for eksempel en nettverks- terminal (NT), og en andre tilstand sløyfer transmisjonen tilbake til det originerende punkt, for eksempel en linje- terminal (LT). Sløyfingen kan da utnyttes for vedlikehold, feildeteksjon og gjenoppretting. Ved å bruke en av de ledi- ge bitene i administrasjonskanalen i HDSL-transmisjonen som et opprinnelsesbit, hvor "l" settes i oppstrømsretningen (NT-LT) og "O" settes i nedstrømsretningen, er det mulig å detektere i LT-en hvorvidt en tilbakesløyfing finner sted i forsterkeren.
