Description
Fremgangsmåte til fremstilling av kalsiumklorid for
tbrkeformål.
Vannfritt kalsiumklorid finner i laboratorium og teknikk anvendelse til tørking av gasser. Tørkemidlets virkning avhenger sterkt av dets overflate og avtar i den grad som det på overflaten av tørkemidlet danner seg et krystallvannholdig sjikt. Det er derfor nærliggende for tørking av gasser å anvende et mest mulig finkornet materiale. Det har imidlertid den ulempe at det må anvendes en rela-tivt stor energi for å bringe gassen som skal tørkes gjennom tørke-midlet. Dessuten virker det ugunstig at i dette tilfelle medrives tørkemidlet lett av gasstrømmen således at det bare er mulig med rela-tivt lave gasshastigheter.
Det er nå blitt funnet en fremgangsmåte til fremstilling
av kalsiumklorid med stor indre overflate ved at man til kalsiumklorid-Kfr. kl. 12m-11/24
oppløsningen setter kalsiumklorat og inndamper den vandige kalsium-kloridoppløsning under dehydratiseringsbetingelser. Til anvendelse kommer det tilsetninger av kalsiumklorat i mengder på 1 - 20 vektdeler, fortrinnsvis 2-10 vektdeler på 100 vektdeler kalsiumklorid.
Oppløsnings- og krystallvannets fordampning fra kalsium-kloridoppløsningene under samtidig spaltning og gassutvikling av kalsiumkloratet kan foregå på kjent måte, f.eks. i utenifra oppvarmede dreietromler eller liknende.
Kalsiumkloridet fremstilt ifølge oppfinnelsen har en sammen-likningsmessig grov kornform med stor indre overflate, således at de ovenfor anførte ulemper unngåes. Man oppnår på denne måte ved rela-tivt høye strømhingshastigheter for gassen en høy tørkningseffekt. Eksempel.
I en dreierørsovn med direkte flammeoppvarmning gjennom
et stort antall flammer hvis uttredelsesåpninger er fordelt over materialleiringens hele lengde fremstilles på kjent måte fra granulert kalsiumklorid ved påsprøytning av en 40%-ig vandig kalsiumkloridopp-løsning ved flammetemperatur av ca. l600 til 1700°C kalsiumkloridkuler med en diameter på ca. I5-4O mm og den indre overflate bestemmes.
Bestemmelsen av den indre overflate foregår etter Areameter-metoden, som er en forenklet Brunnauer-Emment-Teller-fremgangsmåte. Maiingene ble foretatt på kaliumkloridkuler av lik diameter som ble fremstilt under samme betingelse med den forskjell at den anvendte kalsiumkloridoppløsning inneholdt vekslende mengder av kalsiumklorat. Følgende tabell viser at allerede ved forholdsvis små tilsetninger av kalsiumklorat økes vesentlig kalsiumkloridets indre overflate.

- Fremgangsmåte til fremstilling av kalsiumklorid for tørkeformål ved inndampning av vandig kalsiumkloridoppløsninger under dehyuratiseringsbetingelser, karakterisert ved at man anvender kalsiumkloridopplpsninger med et kalsiumklorat-innhold på 1,0 - 20,0 vektdeler, fortrinnsvis 2,0 - 10,0 vektdeler på 100 vektdeler kalsiumklorid-.
