Description
Luftpute for sykesenger. Air cushion for hospital beds.
The invention relates to an air cushion specially intended for use in hospital beds to support the seat area and lower back of patients with a long-term hospital stay. The normal airbags used for this purpose in hospitals are ring-shaped, and they are inflated to a cross-section in the shape of a flattened oval. To support the lower back and the lower part of the back, a normal square down pillow is placed, which is placed close to the edge of the air cushion and which extends a little way up the length of the back. Where the down cushion collides with the air cushion's round perimeter line, two corners arise where there are cavities, and where the lower back does not get any support from the side parts. This causes great discomfort and pain for the patient after a period of illness.
In order to avoid this disadvantage, the air cushion according to the invention is given a different shape, one half of which is ring-shaped while the other half is designed as half of a cushion with a square circumference and with the same central round hole in the air cushion. This pillow is placed under the patient's seat, so that the straight side edge of the pillow lies across the longitudinal direction of the bed and closest to the lower back where it collides with the normal square down pillow, so that no voids occur where the pillows collide.
Fig. 3 og 4 viser luftputen ifølge opp- The invention will be explained in more detail in connection with the drawing, where: Fig. 1 shows the pillows placed under a patient in a hospital bed. I fig. In fig. 1 indicates 1 the patient's body in the supine position where the seat part is supported by a ring-shaped air cushion 2 which abuts a preferably square down cushion 4, and which lies on the mattress 3. As can be seen from fig. 2, with these ordinary ring-shaped air cushions, a void is formed in each of the corners 5, which means that the side parts of the lumbar spine are not supported. This disadvantage is avoided by the shape that the air cushion has acquired according to the invention and which appears in fig. 3 and 5, where one half of the airbag 6 is part of an annular cushion, while the other half of the airbag is designed as one half of a square cushion, and where both cushion halves have the same central through hole and the same cross-sectional width b = b' . The straight side of the air cushion is placed against the straight side of the down cushion 4, and the lower back receives uniform support across the entire width. Due to the fact that the corner parts 7 of the air bag together have a larger cross-sectional area than the other cross-sections of the bag at b and b', these shaded parts will be inflated higher than the rest of the bag as shown in fig. 5. This achieves the advantage that the lower back at the side parts gets full support, as the air cushion's contour, as can be seen from fig, 6, forms a concave line that corresponds to the rounding of the body.
Den luftpute 9 som er vist i fig. 4 har et større tverrsnittsareal ved b' enn ved b The air cushion 9 shown in fig. 4 has a larger cross-sectional area at b' than at b
