Description
The present invention relates to a speaker which comprises a box containing at least one speaker element, damping material and possibly a dividing filter.
Conventional loudspeakers for high-quality sound systems generally require large rooms and a number of loudspeaker elements of different types, which lead to large costs. One of the disadvantages of the known loudspeakers, whose enclosures usually have flat sides and sharp edges, is that the backward-directed sound wave from the loudspeaker element reaches the back wall of the box (the shortest distance) and is then reflected from the back wall of the box together with other sound waves of different intensity. Along the way, a large part of the sound bubble energy will be consumed by conversion to frictional heat in the box's damping material, which significantly reduces the speaker's efficiency. The purpose of the invention is to provide a loudspeaker with very high sound reproduction quality despite reduced volume requirements and relatively low costs compared to known loudspeakers.
According to the invention, this is achieved by the features specified in the claims.
4 viser f rekvensgangen for samme hoyttaler. A detailed example 1 of the invention will be described in more detail in the following with reference to the drawings, whose fig. 1 shows a longitudinal section of a loudspeaker according to the invention, fig. 2 shows a front view of the same with certain parts slbyfet, fig. 3 shows a connection core for the elements included in the loudspeaker according to fig. 1 and 2, and fig. 4 shows the frequency response for the same speaker.
Rorets nedre bakre ende er lukket med en blyplate 2 som er festet til roret på The one in fig. The loudspeaker shown in 1 has a box 1 which is made of a rib with a circular cross-section. The rib end is extended at an angle of 90° as indicated by the two central axes a and b. The axis b has a length which is approximately half of the axis a. The lower rear end of the rudder is closed with a lead plate 2 which is attached to the rudder on
A loudspeaker 3 is mounted in a sound screen 4 and is preferably of the bass type with the screen 4 fixed in the rudder in some suitable way. A further tweeter 5 is mounted in front of the movable speaker 3, which is of the treble type and attached by means of an organ 6. A suitable material is arranged above the movable speaker of the rudder 1, e.g. a textile fabric or a metal grid 7. Behind the speaker 3, there is placed in the interior of the box a damping feeder in a 1e 8 which is of a type known in speaker technology, such as a synthetic and long-fibred sound-absorbing material which has been shown to prevent part a 1sv ings.
The two speakers 3 and 5 are connected in the manner shown in fig. 3, the tweeter 3 being placed over two input terminals 10 and 11, the former of which is grounded at 14. The tweeter is connected in series with a resistor 12 and a capacitor 13. This series circuit is then connected across terminals 10 and 11 and is thus parallel to the speaker 6. The dividing filter thus consists of an RC filter.
Fig. 4 viser frekvensgangen som er opptatt med en hoyttaler med fblgende data: Fig. 4 shows the frequency response occupied by a loudspeaker with the following data:
hdyttalerelement: en 12,5 cm (5") basshbytta ler med gummiopphengt konus og en 2,5 cm (1") diskanthbyttaler med stor spredningsvinkel tweeter element: a 12.5 cm (5") woofer with rubber-suspended cone and a 2.5 cm (1") tweeter with wide dispersion angle
Den store fordel med hbyttaleren ifblge oppfinnelsen er The big advantage of the loud speaker according to the invention is
Avstanden mellom hbyttaleren 3 og rorets 1 vegg er således valgt at den bakoverrettede lydbblge ikke påvirkes i sitt kritiske punkt, i hvilket lydbblgens energi er maksimal. that as large a part as possible of the rearward-directed sound bubble is directed down into the substrate (a floor, marble or the like) without any major losses. This is caused by the round cross-sectional area of the speaker box and the softly rounded bend of the rudder, which means that the sound wave directed backwards is attenuated uniformly, so that all critical frequencies are attenuated to the same degree. The distance between the loudspeaker 3 and the wall of the rudder 1 is chosen so that the rearward-directed sound beam is not affected at its critical point, at which the sound beam's energy is maximum.
Lengden.åv roret er avstemt e£ter basshbyttalejens egeh-resonans i systemet eller l/l6 fOgj omregnet i meter 330/16 ft^JThe length of the rudder is matched to the bass shift bearing's own resonance in the system or l/l6 fOgj converted into meters 330/16 ft^J
Rbdet er fortrinnsvis fremstilt av plast på en eller annen egnet måte. for the case to be as small as possible (fOg = 80 Hz). The tweeter speaker 5 is, as can be seen from fig. 1, placed furthest forward at one end of the horn to achieve maximum dispersion of the treble, and the bass speaker 3 is placed as close to the treble horn 1 as possible so that the dispersion of the midrange and the inner volume of the horn 1 will be as possible and the formation of interferences is as small as possible. As previously mentioned, the dividing filter is of the RC type, which gives a well-defined dividing frequency, little intermodulation distortion and negligible influence on the amplifier's damping factor. The Rbdet is preferably made of plastic in some suitable way.
