Description
Anordning for behandling av garn av kontinuerlige syntetiske fibre. Device for processing yarn of continuous synthetic fibers.
Denne oppfinnelse angår en anordning This invention relates to a device
for behandling av garn av kontinuerlig for processing yarn of continuous
syntetisk filamentgarn. synthetic filament yarn.
More particularly, the invention relates to a device for individually crimping and heat-treating a plurality of strands of continuous synthetic filaments to produce permanently crimped yarn, where the individual filaments in each strand are permanently crimped.
Garn av vanlige syntetiske kontinuerlige filamenter har i motsetning til syntetisk spunnet garn visse ulemper som har Yarn of ordinary synthetic continuous filaments has, in contrast to synthetic spun yarn, certain disadvantages which have

garn av kontinuerlige filamenter for frem-stiling av tekstiler, klær, sytråd og indu-strielle produkter kan det sees at de individuelle kontinuerlige filamenter av garnet yarn of continuous filaments for the production of textiles, clothing, sewing thread and industrial products, it can be seen that the individual continuous filaments of the yarn

These disadvantages associated with these types of yarns of continuous filament yarns prevent their use for many purposes for which they could otherwise be used.
During crimping of a plurality of separate and independent strands of continuous filaments, it has been found that an electrostatic charge is formed on the strands which causes an inflation of the individual filaments in each strand and thereby causes entanglement of the strands.
The purpose of the invention is to provide devices for the continuous treatment of synthetic, continuous, extracted or twisted single threads to form a permanently fixed, curled yarn, the different threads being kept separate at the same time, but in a pile-like form.
Furthermore, the purpose of the invention is to provide devices for continuous curling of a plurality of separate, continuous, synthetic fiber threads in a manner that allows further separation after curling and curl fixing, should this prove necessary.
Another particular object of the invention is to provide means for continuously dividing and separating a plurality of continuous filament yarns while they are individually crimped in a discharge field which counteracts electrostatic charging to prevent entanglement of the threads.
The device according to the invention for the continuous treatment of synthetic, continuously extracted or twisted single threads to form a permanently fixed, curled yarn comprises two pressure rollers rotating in opposite directions, guiding devices for guiding at least one thread between the rollers in a fixed line of movement, and devices at the exit of the aforementioned devices for holding this thread against the continuous supply of threads from the rollers, as well as a device for bringing the threads from the latter devices into a slack, loose state, and are characterized in that a thread separator is arranged near the pressure rollers which has a number of parallel plates arranged at a distance from each other which form a number of slots placed at the rotatable rollers, whereby the threads are separated and guided separately between the rotatable rollers.
The device according to the invention is also characterized in that anti-static devices are arranged near the rotatable rollers and the outlet part to prevent entanglement of the threads.
Fordelene ved foreliggende oppfinnelse vil fremgå av den følgende detaljerte beskrivelse og tegningene, hvor The advantages of the present invention will be apparent from the following detailed description and the drawings, where

In the drawings, the same parts are denoted by the same reference numbers.
2. A plurality of separate threads 11 are passed through a guide rod device 10 by means of which the threads are kept separate and independent and in parallel relation to each other. The threads are then led to a perforated guide bar 12 of a curling device 15, which comprises a table 16 supported by several legs 17. The guide bar 12 is mounted on an adjustable stand 18, so that its position and location can be accurately is set to correctly guide threads through the separating and curling device which is described later in more detail. This device 15 is provided with two mutually adjustable and horizontally arranged, circumferentially smooth pressure rollers 26 and 27, which are mounted on shafts 28, respectively 29. The roller shafts are rotatably mounted in bearings 30, respectively 31, which are attached to the framework of the device 15. The shaft 29 is driven by means of a power unit 32 through a drive belt 33 which connects the pulley 34 attached to the shaft 29 with a pulley 25 which is attached to the shaft of the motor 32. This motor drives a gear wheel 36 , which in turn drives an intermediate wheel 36' standing in engagement with a gear wheel 35, by means of which the gear wheel 35' is driven, so that the rollers 26 and 27 rotate simultaneously. With this arrangement of gears, the roller 26 will rotate clockwise while the roller 27 rotates counter-clockwise, as shown in fig. 2.
It can be seen clearly from fig. 4 that these rollers are arranged tangentially to each other at their point of contact. The rollers can be arranged with their surfaces next to each other, but they are not in direct contact due to the threads 11, as will be apparent from the following. The pressure of one roller can be adjusted relative to the other by means of a spring or other suitable tension regulating device 37 which is provided with a handle 37a and a threaded shaft 37b, which extends through a threaded opening in the jack 37c . The roller 26 is pressed against the roller 27 by means of a pressure spring 37e or a suitable device which presses against a housing 37f. By means of the handle, the housing 37f containing the shaft 27 can be moved laterally in relation to the other shaft 29. The device 37 is arranged to allow the roller 26 to be moved slightly in relation to the roller 27 when the threads pass between the rollers. The guide rod 12, shown in detail in fig. 3 and 4, is pierced with a series of per-linings or holes. After passing through the guide rod assembly 10, each thread 11 is passed through an individual hole in the guide rod 12. The threads then pass downward through a separating and dividing device 38, which is located directly below the guide rod 12 and above the tangential point of the rollers 26 and 27. Ad separation device 38 is conveniently mounted on curling device 15 and comprises a rectangular framework with side parts 39, 40 and two end parts of which one, 41, is shown in fig. 3. This framework, which is rectangular when viewed from above, supports several thin, flat tin strips 42, which together form a series of slits 43, through which the individual threads 11 pass.
5 viste form. It is noted that at the ends 41 and 41a and between the metal strips 42, filler plates or parts 43a are placed, which act as stops, whereby certain threads can be separated from the others by moving them to one of the unblocked ends of the slots 43, while the others slots are not clogged. In other words, the device 38 effects both the guiding of the individual threads and the separation of the individual threads, so that their ends can be separated at certain intervals for subsequent separation or treatment. The flat strips 42 are usually V-shaped, as can be seen in fig. 2 and 4. The tips of the V-shaped strips are flush with each other, and they are directed to the tangential line of the rollers to guide the thread between them. It can thus be seen that by means of the guide bar arrangement 10, the guide bar 12 and the separating device 38, the threads are kept apart from each other and parallel to each other before they are fed to the curling rollers 26 and 27. These rollers are elongated, and they have such a length that they provides space for a number of parallel threads 11 lying next to each other. A housing 44 is placed under the rollers, as can be seen from fig. 4. As the threads are drawn downwardly between the rollers, they enter the housing 44, where they are curled and they remain in the housing in a curled or folded state, i.e. arranged at an angle to the longitudinal axis of the individual continuous filament yarns. Instead of a separation device 38, a device can be provided which only has individual plates extending downwards over a roller, and which consists of only half of that in fig. 5 shown form.
When the yarn, as described above, passes through the curling device 15, the friction between the threads and the various parts of the device over which the thread passes causes electrostatic charges to build up. The thus electrically charged threads repel each other after they have passed between the rollers and thereby cause entanglement and bundle formation. To prevent this, the present apparatus is provided with a series of static eliminators 45, 46 and 47, shown in fig. 1 and 2. These eliminators are conveniently mounted on the curling device by means of supports 48. The supports are preferably made of insulating material so that the eliminators are isolated from the framework of the curling device 15. The eliminators 45, 46 and 47 are connected to a power source and thereby charged . Each eliminator comprises a straight, round rod, with a series of protrusions, as can be seen from fig. 1. It will then be understood that when the eliminators are connected to a power source, an antistatic field is formed in the area of the wires 11. In this way, any charge that would normally build up on the threads is diverted, and the threads remain in an electrically neutral state, so that they do not repel each other and become intertwined.
6. As the yarns, after passing between the curling rollers 26 and 27, fill the housing 44, they press against its walls and cause the front wall to move slightly by the pressure, after which the curled yarns fall into the box 49 and are collected in any suitable manner. The resulting slack, curled long chain of continuous filament yarns is now in fluff-like form and is collected in a container 49, which is taken to a fixing oven 51. After the oven door is closed and the temperature in the oven brought to the appropriate fixing temperature for the treated material, the fleece-like yarn is kept in the fixing oven as long as is necessary for the individual material being treated. Heat fixing can be carried out by means of steam, infrared rays, heating coils, ultrasound or high frequency means or by means of other suitable means. It is noted that it is common to use a fixing oven in the textile industry, and that heat, pressure and humidity are applied to yarn or material in the oven. It has been found that the temperatures to be used are dependent on the type of yarn to be treated in the fixing oven. These temperatures can vary between approx. 82° C and approx. 260° C, and even higher if necessary. It has been found e.g. that the necessary temperature to fix a type of nylon is approx. 130° C and for the wound from approx. 82° C to approx. 87° C. The fixing time can vary between 15 minutes or less, to iy2 hours or more up to 3 hours, while the vapor pressure in the oven can vary from 0.36 to 3.6 kg/cm- or more. By means of the fixing operation, the curl is permanently fixed in the continuous filaments. A yarn with permanent curl is shown in fig. 6.
After the fixation is completed, the fleece is separated into continuous filaments and wound onto spools for later twisting, winding and further processing. The threads can be placed directly on the chute beam for weaving, tricot or woven knitting. The continuous filaments are in a permanently curled state and can be used as single threads, or a yarn consisting of several layers or spun yarn or multilayer yarn twisted in a new way can be produced from them.
From the preceding description and the accompanying drawings, it appears that the invention provides a device for producing permanently curled, continuous filament yarn which has the desired characteristic properties of spun yarn.
