Description
Dyrkningskompost.
Foreliggende oppfinnelse angår en dyrkningskompost. Komposter sammensettes av en rekke dyrknings- og vekstmedia som jord, sand, perlit, vermiculit, bladmuld, gjodsel, torv, sagflis, osv. Plante-næringsstoffer tilsettes til komposten i storre eller mindre grad av-hengig av de mengder plantenæring som finnes i de vektsmedia hvorfra komposten sammensettes. De fleste gronne planter krever i det minste noen av grunnstoffene nitrogen, fosfor, kalium, kalsium, magnesium, svovel, jern, sink, mangan, kobber, bor og molybden.
Mengden av kobber som finnes i en kompost, må reguleres om-hyggelig, siden kobber i storre mengder viser seg å være giftig for plantene. Man har nå overraskende funnet at ved hoye jerninnhold opp-står giftvirkninger mindre lett av kobberet enn ved lave jerninnhold.
Ifolge foreliggende oppfinnelse er det således tilveiebragt en dyrkningskompost inneholdende et kobbersalt og et jernsalt, hvor mengden av jernion er mindre enn 5000 deler per million av komposten på torrbasis, kjennetegnet ved at forholdet mellom jernion og kobberion er storre enn 7;1» fortrinnsvis mellom 10:1 og 2^ :1, og at mengden av kobberion i komposten er over 50 vektdeler, fortrinnsvis 50 - 3^0 vektdeler, per million vektdeler kompost på torrbasis.
Kobbersaltet er fortrinnsvis kobbersulfat eller kobber-nitrat. Jernsaltet er fortrinnsvis jernsulfat eller jernnitrat. Komposten inneholder fortrinnsvis fra $ 00 til 3000 vektdeler jernion og som nevnt 50 til JOO vektdeler kobberion per million vektdeler kompost på torrbasis.
Fortrinnsvis inneholder komposten ifolge oppfinnelsen torv som hele eller en del av dyrkningsmediet. Andre stoffer som kan brukes som dyrkningsmedia istedenfor eller i tillegg til torv er sand, verme-culit, perlit, kunstige stoffer som polystyren og lignende og bland-inger av slike.
Komposter i henhold til foreliggende oppfinnelse inneholder fortrinnsvis også et gjodningsgrunnlag som vanligvis inneholder nær-ingsstoffene nitrogen, kalium og fosfor sammen med sporstoffer som bor, molybden, magnesium og lignende, i tillegg til jern og kobber. Typiske næringsstoffer er kaliumsalter som kaliumnitrat, kaliumsulfat, kaliumklorid, etc, fosfater som superfosfater og lignende, eksempelvis trippelsuperfosfat, monoammoniumfosfat, kaliummetafosfat og lignende, ammoniumsalter som ammoniumnitrat, ammoniumsulfat og lignende og organ-iske n:trogenholdige stoffer som f.eks. dekomponerbare ureaformaldehyd-harpik: er med lav molekylvekt, hover og horn, torket blod og lignende.
Om onsket kan kalk settes til torven som en del av gjodnings-grunnltget, eller et ureaktivt materiale eller bæremateriale som sand. Mengder; av kalk eller inert bæremateriale er liten sammenlignet med torvmei gden, vanligvis mindre enn 5 vektprosent, av denne.
Mengden av gjodningsgrunnlag leverer fortrinnsvis mellom 10 og 10 000 deler nitrogen uttrykt som N per million vektdeler kompost på torrbasis, mellom 50 og 10 000 deler kalium som ^0 per million vektdeler kompost på torrbasis.

Matthiola incana-planter ble dyrket på ren torv inneholdende forskjellige jern- og kobber-tilsetninger. Midlere torrvekt for plan-tens synlige deler ble målt og de folgende resultater oppnådd:
Disse planter var gronne og friske for torking. Ovenstående resultater skal sammenlignes med folgende:
I motsetning til plantene fra forste tabell led disse planter av klorose i årene på de eldre bladene fulgt av åre-nekrose. Planteveksten var også hemmet.

- Dyrkningskompost inneholdende et kobbersalt og et jernsalt, hvor mengden av jernion er mindre enn 5000 deler per million av komposten på torrbasis, karakterisert ved at forholdet mellom jernion og kobberion er storre enn ' Jil, fortrinnsvis mellom 10:1 og 2.^ :1, og at mengden av kobberion i komposten er over 50 vektdeler, fortrinnsvis 50 - JOO vektdeler, per million vektdeler kompost på torrbasis.
