Description
Fremgangsmåte til fremstilling av lim av stivelse- eller stivelsemel-hydrolysater.
Oppfinnelsen angår fremstilling av lim av stivelse-eller stivelsemelhydrolysater med stor klebeevne og utmerket egnet for limindustrien.
Hittil har størsteparten av de opploselige dekstriner og stivelser som var bestemt for denne industri, vært fremstilt på torr vei, særlig ved rostning av stivelse eller stivelsemel i ovner eller varmetromler. Denne produksjon er imidlertid relativt kostbar.
En fremstilling av disse produkter ved hydrolyse
- enten kjemisk eller enzymatisk - er mer okonomisk, men hittil har denne metode bare gjort det mulig å oppnå derivater i lav konsentrasjon, i alminnelighet ikke over 8 %, noe som er uten interesse for limindustrien.
Hvis man kommer over denne konsentrasjon, melder der seg nemlig kjente fenomener som består i rask gelering som folge av reversible sekundære prosesser, og som gjor produktene ubrukelige i limindustrien. Av den grunn foretar man hydrolysen for andre an-vendelser frem til et fremskredet stadium så man får fluidum-formede forbindelser som er stabile, men praktisk talt uten klebeevne, og som folgelig er anvendelige for gautsjing av papir.
Oppfinnelsen går ut på en fremgangsmåte til ved enzymatisk hydrolyse, i alminnelighet ved hjelp av enzymer av amylasetypen, å fremstille lim av stivelse- eller stivelsemel-hydrolysater som er stabile ved hoye konsentrasjoner, som kan gå opp i ca. 60 vektprosent, så man dermed nyttiggjor seg de okonomiske fordeler ved fremstillingen på våt vei, samtidig som der fås produkter som har storre viskositet og storre klisterevne enn man kan oppnå med kjente fremgangsmåter til fremstilling på våt vei,
og fremgangsmåten derfor egner seg utmerket for limindustrien.
Fremgangsmåten ifolge oppfinnelsen er i forste rekkekarakterisert vedat mengder av stivelse eller stivelsemel og vann svarende til en konsentrasjon mellom 15 og 60 vektprosent av stivelse eller stivelsemel, underkastes hydrolysen i nærvær av en tilsetning av minst ett kompleksdannelses- eller antigelerings-agens valgt innen den gruppe av estere som inneholder flere enn 8 karbonatomer, f.eks. estere avledet fra syrer som olje-, stearin-, laurin-, myristin-, linolsyre m.v. Den vesentlige funksjon av disse forbindelser av estertypen er å danne komplekser med visse produkter av reaksjonen. På denne måte unngår man gelering og kan dermed stanse hydrolysen på et mellomstadium, noe som gjor det mulig å oppnå hydrolysat-konsentrasjoner på 15 - 60 vektprosent.
Ifolge et annet fordelaktig trekk ved oppfinnelsen kan man fremstille stivelse- eller stivelsemelhydrolysater som har bedre klebeevne eller fuktighetfasthet, ved at man i lopet av hydrolysen tilsetter vinyl- og/eller akryl- og/eller fenolmonomere ?ler polykondensater av disse produkter, så vel som en polymerisa-sjonskatalysator av peroksydtypen, eller tilsetter urea og formaldehyd og/eller melamin og formaldehyd eller også polykondensater av disse produkter. De onskede modifiserte hydrolysater fås da ved sampolymerisasjon.
Disse sampolymerisasjonsvirkninger lar seg umulig oppnå ved fremstilling av dekstriner på torr vei, mens det ved de allerede kjente hydrolyse-metoder var unulig å realisere dem i de sterke konsentrasjoner som behoves for limindustrien.
Såvel når det gjelder de rene stivelse- eller stivelsemelhydrolysater som de modifiserte hydrolysater som fremstilles i henhold til oppfinnelsen, fås de i fullstendig stabil form.
Til belysning av oppfinnelsen vil der bli anfort endel utforelseseksempler på fremgangsmåten.
Eksempel 1.
Man benytter potetmel, mais-stivelse eller lignende, og en hydrolysekatalysator av typen amylase i en mengde av 0,15~1 vektprosent i forhold til stivelsen eller melet, alt etter konsen-trasjonen av de klistre som skal fremstilles (15 - Sofo). Man blander med 0,95~3»5vektdeler vann til 1 del stivelse eller mel.
Som stabiliserings- eller antigeleringsforbindelse tilsetter man ett eller flere monoglycerider avledet fra syrer som olje-, stearin-, laurin-, myristin-, palmitin- eller linolensyre,
i en mengde av 0,2 - 1 vektprosent regnet på stivelse eller mel.
Man utforer hydrolysen ved en temperatur av 20 - 80°C i lopet av 40 - 75 minutter for å få hydrolysater med en konsentrasjon av 15 - 60 vektprosent.
Når man går frem etter dette eksempel, får man hydrolysater i egentlig forstand av stivelser eller stivelsemel. For å oppnå modifiserte hydrolysater ved sampolymerisasjon med monomere av den ovenfor angitte art eller med polykondensater av disse, tilsetter man slike monomere polykondensater, og der vil i det fblgende bli gitt endel eksempler på tilsetning av slike stoffer i lopet av hydrolysen, f.eks. idet man går frem som beskrevet i eksempel 1.
Eksempel 2.
Man tilsetter en eller flere vinyl- og/eller akryl-monomere (f«eks. vinylacetat og/eller akrylestre) i en mengde av 2-3O vektprosent regnet på stivelse eller mel, såvel som en katalysat-or av perok<y>yd-typen (f.eks. natrium- eller kaliumpersulfat eller hydrogenperoksyd) i mengder av 0,1 - 1 % av monomerens vekt.
Polymerisasjonen av harpiksene skjer i emulsjon og gir en vandig
dispersjon.
Eksempel S.
Man tilsetter monomere av typen urea og formaldehyd
og/eller melamin og formaldehyd eller også polykondensater av disse produkter.
F.eks. kan man bruke:
a) 3,3 deler formaldehyd 30$ - 1 del urea, hvilket
svarer til 2,1 deler av forbindelsen urea-formaldehyd:
b) 3,3 deler formaldehyd 30$ - 1,4 deler melamin
svarende til 2,5 deler av forbindelsen melamin-formaldehyd.
1-10 vektdeler av forbindelsen a) og/eller av
forbindelsen b) eller av et polykondensat av disse, i nærvær av svake baser (organiske baser av typen substituerte aminer, som etanol-
amin m.v.) blir å tilsette, regnet på mengden av stivelse eller mel.
Eksempel 4.
Man tilsetter, regnet i vektprosent i forhold til
stivelsen eller melet, 1-4$ monomer av fenoltypen,1 - 10$ for-
maldehyd og 0,3 - 0,5 $ ammoniakk eller kaustisk soda.
Når man går frem som i eksemplene 2, 3°g 4»får man
stabile blandinger av hydroliserte stivelser, sampolymere av hydrolisert stivelse og harpiks, og harpiksaktige homopolymere.
Det bor bemerkes at de produkter som tilsettes i
henhold til eksemplene 3 og 4»er vannopploselige produkter.
