Description
Werkwijze voor het immobiliseren van los in een alzijdig gesloten verpakking geplaatste artikelen, en verpakking volgens deze werkwijze;A method for immobilizing articles placed loosely in an all-round closed package, and packaging according to this method;
The invention relates to a method for immobilizing articles placed loosely in an all-round closed package, and to a package containing articles immobilized according to this method.
In principle, it is known to immobilize articles loosely packed in a package for shipment by further filling the package with commercially available fillers. These fillers usually consist of small, specifically shaped bodies made of a plastic. Filling the packaging with fillers according to the known art has the major drawback, however, that the recipient of a consignment of immobilized articles in this way is faced with the problem of disposing or processing the fillers used. In addition, the fillers used so far are very bulky, which places a large amount of space on the shipping departments that use these fillers. Finally, the fillers used up to now, due to the large amounts used thereof, are a significant burden for the environment.
The object of the invention is to provide a method in which the above-mentioned drawbacks are avoided. This is achieved according to the invention in that an inflatable body open on one side is placed in the space left by the articles in the package, the body is then inflated and then sealed, and finally the package is closed.
The method for immobilizing loosely packed articles according to the known art, when used in the packaging of electronic components, has the additional drawback that the plastic fillers used are strongly statically charged by continuously moving past each other. This static charge can become so great that breakdown occurs and the electronic components to be immobilized are damaged.
It is therefore a further object of the invention to provide a method in which the above-mentioned drawback is avoided. This is achieved according to the invention in that the inflatable body is made of an anti-static material.
In order to fill and seal the inflatable; according to a feature of the invention, use can be made of a body whose size between the open side and the opposite closed side is greater than the corresponding size of the package, thereby opening the body during filling and sealing may protrude beyond the package.
If the filling and sealing device used is provided with a pressure limiting device, the inflatable body can be filled until it experiences a determined force.
af het lichaam voorzien van harmonica-vormige zijkanten, dan kunnen verschillende hoeveelheden artikelen optimaal worden geïmmobiliseerd.when fitted with harmonica-shaped sides on the body, different amounts of articles can be optimally immobilized.
The gas with which the inflatable body is filled is preferably air.
The inflatable body is preferably made of a plastic material and is gas-tight sealed by local heating.
Mentioned and other features of the method according to the invention are described below with reference to a number of examples, to which the invention is not limited, while reference is made to the appended drawing, in which: fig. 1 is an exploded view of a package containing an inflatable body according to the invention; Fig. 2 is a view of an already partially closed package, provided with an inflatable body according to the invention, and a commercially available filling and sealing device; FIG. 3 is a sectional view of an inflatable body according to the invention and a commercially available filling and sealing device during various stages of inflation and airtight sealing of the inflatable body; and Fig. 4 is a view of an alternative embodiment of an inflatable body according to the invention.
Fig. 1 shows a package 1, provided with flaps 2, and partially filled with loose articles 3, in which an inflatable body 4 is provided, provided with an open end 5, to immobilize the articles in the package.
The dimensions of the inflatable body are chosen such that, when three of the four valves 2 are closed, the open side 5 of the inflatable body 4 still protrudes outside the package 1.
After three of the four valves 2 have been closed, the package 1 with the open side 5 of the inflatable body 4 protruding therefrom is brought to a commercially available filling and sealing device 6. This filling and sealing device 6 comprises a provision 7 provided with suction openings 8 and jaws 9 made of flexible material for opening and subsequently clamping the inflatable body 4, filling openings 10 and a provision 11 for gas-tight sealing of the inflatable body 4.
3d).The open end 5 of the inflatable body 4 is then introduced into the filling and sealing device 6 (fig. 3a), after which this open end 5 is sucked against the jaws 9 by applying a vacuum to suction openings 8, and then the filling opening 10 is introduced into the inflatable body 4 (fig. 3b). The jaws 9 are moved towards each other, thereby clamping the open end of the inflatable body 4 and filling the inflatable body with a gas through the filling opening 10 (fig. 3c). Finally, the inflatable body 4 is closed in a gastight manner by means of provision 11, after which the jaws 9 move away from each other and the filling opening 10 is withdrawn (Fig. 3d).
The protruding part of the inflatable body 4 is finally folded together with the last open flap 2, after which the package is closed and is ready for shipment.
In fig. In fig. 4 an alternative embodiment of an inflatable body 12 according to the invention is shown, in which by means of seams 13 harmonica-shaped sides 14 are formed, whereby different quantities of articles can always be optimally immobilized.
