Abstract

Hand operated 'rubber' stamping machines with integral inking pads are well known and are commonly used to authenticate and date documents. The present stamping machine uses ink which is only visible when the imprint is exposed to ultra-violet or infra-red light.

Description

The use of an automatic stamping machine as a "marking instrument" means that an invisible marking stamp can be given on any object by means of an ink pad processed with special ink, which marking is only visible under ultraviolet light and the method involved.

The invention relates to the use of an automatic stamping machine with a so-called built-in ink pad for invisible marking purposes on almost every possible object.

An automatic stamping machine with a so-called built-in ink pad is a known product with a known method. It is known to use such an automatic stamping machine for stamping names and the like on paper and related articles. In this known method, ordinary, optionally colored, ink is applied to the ink pad, as a result of which the stamp created (a certain text; a photo print) can be used to make a stamp print on paper and related articles.

What is new, however, is the use of such a known stamping machine in combination with such a known stamping pad as an "invisible marker". The object of the invention is to provide the possibility of placing an invisible stamp impression, which is not visible to the naked eye, on almost every conceivable object, i.e. not limited to paper and related articles, with an automatic stamping machine with built-in ink pad. but which print becomes visible only under an ultra-violet exposure,

This object is achieved by working the ink pad with an ink having the aforementioned properties. Such an ink is not new per se, but it is the use of it in a stamping machine in general or the processing thereof of an ink pad in such a stamping machine.

By carefully working the ink pad with such an ink, it is possible, which is completely new, to create the above-mentioned marking stamps.

Also completely new is the possibility to make such a stamp print on almost every conceivable object. This has created a (new) possibility, for example, to mark household goods by means of a stamp with every imaginable text, which marking is not visible to the naked eye. However, the marking is very obvious when exposed to it with ultraviolet light.

All this may be of interest in connection with markings of theft-sensitive goods and the like.

What is new is that such markings can be applied to various goods in an instant, namely by making a single stamp impression.

Other marking possibilities, such as the marking pen, are known, but the marking option brought forward here, by applying a single stamp with which a full text or code or the like can be applied, which only becomes visible under ultra-violet light, is unknown. .
