Abstract
Description
VERKOOPAUTOMAATVENDING MACHINE
The invention relates to a vending machine for foodstuffs, provided with storage containers for different types of packaged foodstuffs, a selection device for selecting a packaged product, means for withdrawing a packaged product from a storage container and transferring a packaged device product and a removal device for removing the desired product by the user.
Such vending machines are known and used for the sale of various packaged products, including foodstuffs.
Such vending machines are only suitable for cold foods, such as chocolate and the like. These vending machines are not suitable for hot food. Although it would be conceivable for the products in the storage containers to be kept permanently at the consumption temperature, this is only permissible for a limited time, given the deterioration in quality associated with this.
The object of the invention is to make such a vending machine suitable for heated foodstuffs.
This is achieved according to the invention by placing heating means between the dispensing devices and the extraction device.
It therefore becomes possible in the known manner to first select a packaged product and to bring the product to be sold to the desired temperature prior to transport to the removal device.
In order to make this take place quickly, the heating means are preferably formed by a microwave oven. Thanks to the short heating time which is usual in microwave ovens, frozen products can also be heated and sold in this way.
When several types of food products need to be sold in the vending machine, it is important that there is an option to be able to control the heating duration and the heating intensity. To this end, means are provided for recognizing a code applied to the packaging of the food product and controlling the heating time and the size of the heating power on the basis of that read code. The microwave oven is thus always adjusted depending on the food product identified by the recognition means.
Preferably, the code is a magnetic readable barcode. According to internationally established standards, such a barcode is already applied to almost all packaged products.
In order to obtain the greatest possible flexibility, the preference is for a vending machine in which there is no fixed relationship between the stock holders and a product to be sold. This opens the possibility to fill more or less stock containers with the same type of product depending on the turnover rate.
In order to make this possible, the selection device selects a stock container on the basis of the code read on the packaging of the food product.
The storage containers can be cylindrical and mounted on a carousel.
The dispenser is preferably placed at a point along the rotation path of the carousel.
In order to obtain even greater flexibility in stocking the storage containers, an access path is preferably provided for supplying packages of food product to the storage containers, gate magnetic sensors are placed near the access path, connected microprocessor for the storage of position data of foodstuffs placed in the storage containers, and the vending machine is provided with a microprocessor-controlled, movable between a position near a supply container and a position near the dispenser transport device.
When filling the storage containers, the sensors detect the type of product and this data is linked to an identification number of the relevant storage containers and the position of the relevant product in that storage container stored in the memory of the microprocessor. When the user expresses his wish regarding a product to be purchased by operating selection keys, this data is compared with the data from the memory of the microprocessor and, on the basis thereof, the position of the product to be purchased in the storage containers is determined. On this basis, the transport device is sent, which then takes the packaged product from the storage containers and transports it to the micro-oven. The operator can therefore fill the stockholders arbitrarily with products depending on the turnover rate of the products observed at any time. Mistakes, for example because certain products are not placed in the correct storage container, are therefore excluded.
The transporting device can for instance be a transport container provided with suction means movable one package of food product vertically along a storage container.
The invention is elucidated on the basis of an exemplary embodiment according to the accompanying drawings.
In de tekeningen toont:In the drawings shows:
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a first embodiment of a vending machine according to the invention; fig. 2 shows a perspective view of a second embodiment of a vending machine according to the invention; FIG. 3 is a longitudinal sectional view of a third embodiment, and FIG. 4 is a fourth embodiment.
A vending machine 1 includes packaged food products, for example 2, which are housed in columnar or cylindrical storage containers 3, 3 ', 3'1 ... Stock containers 3, 3', 3 '' are placed on a carousel 4. After inserting the amount required for the purchase in the usual manner, the desired product is selected by operating selection keys (not drawn). The carousel driven by the motor 100 rotates until the column, in which the desired product is located, has landed in front of the ejector 101. The ejector 101 is moved radially inward, the product being carried along, because the ejector 101 is designed as a single arm of a motor shaft 102 of a motor 150. The product comes on a vertically movable valve 103, which is vertically driven by a motor 151 by the motor 105 such that the product on valve 103 is moved downward against the pressure of a spring 153. When the motor 105 is not driven, the spring 153, which is incorporated in a pipe 154, presses the valve 103 closed, so that the cooling space is closed off with certainty.
The product is transported to the microwave space 107 by means of the arm 106. The heating place is located in this room. In the meantime, the valve 103 has been moved vertically upwards, so that the cooling space is again sealed against the environment. After heating, the arm 106 is driven such that the product moves outwardly to a platform 110 raised by a spring 108.
In this movement, the product has passed valve 112 driven by a motor 111. When the valve 112 is closed, the valve 112 moves the platform 110 down against the spring action of spring 108. The product is then accessible from the outside of the vending machine 1 and can therefore be taken out by the user.
The entire process described above is controlled from the microprocessor 113.
In the embodiment according to Fig. 2, the products are also placed in columns 3 on carousel 4. After the user has, in the usual manner, selected the desired product by means of selection keys (not drawn), after having entered the amount necessary for the purchase, a closing bottom part 6 is placed under the storage container 3 using, for example, a plunger 5. in which the selected product is stored, is withdrawn. The product therefore falls into an opening 7. By rotating the dispenser 8, the product is brought above the access opening 9 of the micro-oven. After the required heating time with the desired intensity, the bottom part 11 of the oven is folded away by means of a plunger-cylinder combination 10 and the product enters the take-out compartment 12 where the user can extract the heated product from the vending machine. A magnetic bar code reading sensor 13 is placed near the storage container, which reads the code and determines whether the correct product has been placed in the associated storage container. If this is not the case, the product is transported further instead of to the oven to the discharge chute 14 where the operator can extract the product from the vending machine 1 and then place it in the correct storage container. In this embodiment, there is thus a fixed relationship between each storage container and the products placed therein.
The embodiment according to Fig. 3 differs in several respects from that according to Fig. 2. As with the embodiment according to Fig. 2, column-shaped storage containers are placed on a carousel. Due to the use of the microprocessor 14, however, a fixed relationship between stock holder and type of product is not necessary. After actuation of the selection keys by the user, the carousel rotates until the desired product recognized by the sensor 15 has been rotated for the extension device 16. The carousel is stopped and the extension device 16, consisting of a motor 17 controlled from the microprocessor 14, rotates a toothed rod 18, which with its end extends the lower product in the respective storage container in the direction of the arrow. The selected extended product then enters a turntable 19 which rotates in the direction of the arrow until the receiving compartment 20 is reached in a second turntable 21.
The receiving compartment 20 forms part of the micro-oven 22. The micro-oven 22 is controlled from a microprocessor. On the basis of the code read by the sensor 15, the microprocessor 14 determines the heating time and the magnitude of the output power of the oven 20. After the product has been heated, the motor 23 is controlled from the microprocessor 14, so that the product is rotated in the take-out compartment 24 comes. It is noted that the rotation of a carousel is also controlled from the microprocessor 14 by means of the motor 25.
In this embodiment, any stock container can be filled with any given product at will. For example, if the turnover rate of French fries is high, several columns can be filled with packaged quantities of French fries.
The embodiment of fig. 4 provides an even greater flexibility, such that errors arising when filling the storage containers are completely excluded.
An access path 26 is supplied to the vending machine 1, along which sensors 27 are placed for reading the packaged products supplied by the operator during filling to the access path. The order of the added products can be arbitrary. The stock holders are therefore filled in random order with different types of products. The sensors 27 are again directly connected to microprocessor 28. The microprocessor 28 obtains information about the supplied products from the sensors 27. Also, the microprocessor 28 is connected to the carousel, so that the microprocessor 28 is also supplied with information about the rank number of the storage container which is at that moment in communication with the supply track 26. The microprocessor is also known for the stock still present in the various holders. On the basis of these data, the packaged product present there can be stored in the memory of the microprocessor for any position in any storage container. Therefore, when the user selects the desired product, the microprocessor 28 can determine the closest position where that product is stored. For this reason, the carousel is rotated in the direction of the arrow until the desired storage container for the receiving compartment 29 has entered the turntable 30. Subsequently, the transport container 31 is controlled by the microprocessor 28 by rotating the screw spindle 32 to the correct height longitudinal position of the storage container. When the transport container 31 has reached the desired height position, by operating the suction member 33, a selected product is drawn from the stack into the storage container and placed in the transport container 31. It is then lowered until the receiving pocket 29 is reached. After the product concerned has been placed therein, heating takes place in the micro-oven in the manner described above, and the product is then discharged to the removal device.
