Abstract

A wooden door or window frame has several drilled ventilating holes in the door stiles. The holes are lined to prevent moisture penetration in the wooden frame. The external wooden frame is constructed with three sill sections (1) and two stiles (2). The openings in the door frame are filled with glass panes (3) fitted in rabbets (4). Ventilating holes (5) are drilled in the stiles. One end of the holes rests at the rabbets, the other end at the door edge. Ventilating holes are lined with rubber, plastics or metal tubing.

Movable bolt facade element with ventilated rebate

The invention relates to a movable facade element with at least one ventilated rebate, in which a filling of wood, glass, plastic or metal is included.

Ventilation of rebates in wooden façade elements, in which such fillings are included, prevents rain and condensation water that has penetrated from collecting in the rebates. This prevents the penetration of moisture into the wood, which has a favorable influence on the lifespan of the facade elements.

A common method for achieving the required ventilation is to provide two sufficiently large ventilation openings per filling, which open into the outwardly facing front surface of the facade elements. The façade elements are more or less marred by these openings, which is regarded as a drawback, in particular with movable façade elements such as windows and doors. Bit often results in "vents" being forgotten.

It is also attempted, by completely filling the rebate space with sealant, to make the ventilation and thus the ventilation openings superfluous.

The object of the invention is to effect an effective rebate ventilation, without the outwardly facing front surfaces of the moving facade elements being marred by ventilation openings. This object is achieved by connecting the rebate spaces to the outside world by means of bores which are made in the vertical posts of these elements and which open out into the narrow vertical side surfaces thereof.

To prevent penetration of moisture into the wood, the said bores are internally coated or covered with a tube of plastic, rubber or metal. Since the rebate ventilation according to the invention no longer has a flaw, all moving façade elements to be manufactured can be provided with rebate ventilation. This means a simplification of production management and a built-in protection against moisture penetration into the wood and into the wood joints of the elements produced in this way.

The invention will be explained in more detail with reference to Figures 1 and 2. Figure 1 shows the front view of a wooden exterior door, the frame of which is made up of three sills (1) and two posts (2). The openings in the door frame are filled with glass plates (3), which are incorporated in the rebates (4). The vents (5) are provided in the posts (2), one end opening into the groove and the other into the narrow side face of the door.

Figure 2 is a section through the post of Figure 1 and shows how the bore (5) communicates the rebate (4) with the outside world, and the narrow side face (7) of the door.
