The invention relates to a device for conditioning a fresh product, such as vegetables, fruit, meat and flowers.
The invention also relates to a method for the conditioning of such fresh products.
Such a device is known from Dutch patent application NL 79.00875. This known device, which is designed as a refrigerator, offers a solution to the problem that, as a result of air, which is very dry inside the refrigerator, the fresh products placed in the refrigerator dry out very quickly. This dehydration then has negative effects on the freshness of the fresh products concerned. In the above-mentioned patent it is proposed to equip the cooling cabinet described therein with a steam generator, which humidifies the air present in the cooling cabinet. This steam generator brings the water necessary for humidification into the gaseous phase, so that the water can easily be fed into the circulating air or inside the refrigerator. There, the steam can then be mixed with the air from the refrigerator, so that it is humidified. Optionally, the steam can be easily transported by means of fans or the like.
A drawback of this known device is that this is in practice an insufficient reduction of the drying effect of the cooling on fresh produce.
VV
* -2- ten, welke verlaging gerealiseerd is door het door bevochtiging verhogen van de relatieve vochtigheid van door een koelinrichting gekoelde lucht.* -2- which has been achieved by increasing the relative humidity of air cooled by a cooling device by humidification.
The object of the invention is to provide a device for the conditioning of a fresh product, in which a greater reduction of the drying effect of cooling on fresh products is possible, and for this purpose a device according to the invention is characterized in that this device is provided with liquid transfer means, which are in communication with a heat exchanger, which is connected to a liquid outlet, such that the supplied liquid is at least partly lowerable on the fresh product via the liquid transfer means, the heat exchanger and the liquid outlet. The liquid, for example water, cooled by the heat exchanger, is preferably lowered in the form of a mist via the liquid outlet above the fresh product. This cold mist will then deposit on this fresh product due to the high weight. By evaporation of the cold mist, heat will be extracted from the fresh product, which results in a cooling of the product. Thus, in the present apparatus, the water spray is not used for mixing with cooled air, but is used for wetting the fresh product and, as a result, for cooling it.
An embodiment of a device according to the invention is characterized in that the device also contains liquid discharge means, which can discharge at least a part of non-lowered liquid to the liquid passage means. It is hereby realized that non-lowered liquid can be reused to cool and wet the fresh product after passing through the heat exchanger and the liquid outlet. The liquid-conveying means mentioned - "- 4 -3- * may comprise, for example, a liquid filter and / or pump.
The invention will be further elucidated on the basis of figures shown in a drawing, of which figure 1 schematically represents a device according to the invention; Figure 2 shows a partial front view of the device shown in Figure 1.
Figure 1 shows a display cabinet 1, in which vegetable boxes 10 and fruit boxes 2 respectively are placed. The whole is arranged on a floor 3. A filter 4, which is connected to the normal water supply network, strips the supplied tap water of minerals therein, such as lime and the like. This filter 4 is connected to a water reservoir 6 provided with a float 5, so that a continuous supply of tap water from the water mains is not necessary. The water reservoir 6 is then connected via a pump 7 to a heat exchanger 8, which cools the supplied water to a temperature of 2 to 3 ° C. The cool water can then be supplied via an inlet pipe 9 to an ultrasonic membrane 10, which atomizes this cooled water into very fine particles by means of sound waves converted into vibrations. This cold mist is then blown out just above the boxes 2, after which the mist will deposit on the products present in the boxes 2 due to the weight. The evaporation process of the cold mist removes heat from the products, resulting in its cooling. Furthermore, the display cabinet 1 contains a center Λ *; · r; ir: · * i x. * -4- Λ * trifugal fan 11, which is used to blow out the mist over the entire length of the furniture 1. A discharge pipe 12 connected to the display cabinet 1 ensures the return to the water reservoir 6 of the cooling water, which is not blown out through the membrane. It is noted that the filter 4 can be placed both before the heat exchanger 8, as shown in this figure 1, and after the heat exchanger. The filter 4 serves in particular to prevent clogging of the membrane 10 by lime present in the tap water. It will be clear that the device according to the invention can be used in all types of refrigeration furniture, refrigerated display cases, refrigeration racks, etc.
Figure 2 shows a partial front view of the display cabinet 1 shown in Figure 1. The ultrasonic membrane 10 is here connected to pipes 13 provided with outlet openings 14, which extend over the entire length of the display cabinet 1.
