Abstract
Description
The application describes a one-person two-wheeled bicycle. Only the frame of said bicycle has novelty value according to the applicant. The construction of a prototype of the bicycle has shown that the new frame necessitates other unusual constructions, which are therefore briefly described, although they have no novelty value. (See point c and d in the Description.) In the claim, the frame principle is mentioned; patent law is being applied for for this. Method, use, etc. are not taken into account.

In the two-wheel bicycles produced so far, the frame consists of a rigid tubing, such that the front wheel, rear wheel and saddle together form a non-flexible whole. A drawback of this construction is that the necessary rigidity of the frame complicates the tubing system, with precision constructions for the tubing, the joints, the headset and the bottom bracket shell. The bending, pushing and pulling forces in the frame are fully absorbed by this steel construction.
In the new frame described below, bending forces on the tubes are avoided. Furthermore, the push and pull forces are split. Pushing forces are absorbed in the upper part of the frame by thin tubes and tensile forces in the lower part by steel wire.
Men kan bijvoorbeeld aluminium gebruiken. In principle, the frame therefore consists of a triangle, see drawing 1, the two upright sides of which are hinged tubes in the top. The base consists of steel wires. Rider A weight presses on top of triangle. The wheels have their axles in B and C. It is easy to see that the pipes are hardly subjected to bending forces. Only by pushing forces in the longitudinal direction of the tube. As a result, they can be constructed lightly and easily, while the material does not need to have great tensile strength. For example, aluminum can be used. Moreover, such a frame can be made very cheaply - technically speaking.
This frame principle has a number of consequences: a. The frame must be extended in width towards the top hinge, otherwise the tracking between the front and rear wheel cannot be guaranteed. To the left and right of the rider two twin tubes are thus constructed at some distance from each other, so that one is then "in", instead of "on" a normal bicycle. See drawing 1A. By stretching canvas between the tubes you get a kind of "garden chair principle", so that the construction of a separate saddle or a separate seat is not necessary.
The top hinge is at hip height; this is the center of gravity of the rider's body.
b. Then it is only one step to a resilient frame: a spring element can be fitted in the steel cables at the base of the triangle, so that the front and rear wheel can spring independently over irregularities. Ö3 necessary damping is provided automatically by the pressure of the legs on the pedals.)
Zie tekening b.The two steel cables at the base of the frame must be split by spreading pieces before releasing the front and rear wheels; in the middle of the bike they just pass between the pedals. See drawings 1A, 2 and 3 · 60 c. Due to the absence of a steering head and fork, the front wheel must have a separate and internal steering construction. Between the two diverging front frame tubes, a rigid hollow tube runs through the axle of the front wheel, which is connected to the frame with a central bolt in a fixed position. (G in drawing 4 ·) 65 In the middle of this transverse tube is connected a vertical pivot pin, 3P, which hinges the tube in a horizontal plane with the hollow axis of the front wheel. See drawing b.
Deze is ca. 2 x 25°.By mounting large ball bearings around it (0 6 cm.), The necessary space is obtained for steering deflection. This is approx. 2 x 25 °.
Zie tekening 3·70 The hollow axle is steered by a push-pull rod, lever operated by the rider. See drawing 3
Because the pivot pin is eccentric in the front axle and at an angle of 78 ° to the horizontal position, some "flight" and "trailing" is obtained.
75 d. In such a resilient frame it is difficult to fit a normal rotating chain drive. That is why a so-called alternating chain drive was chosen. For this purpose there is a freewheel + chain wheel on either side of the rear wheel, 8405557 3. «Over which two pieces of chain go back and forth, such that they only take the rear wheel in the forward direction.
Zie tekening 5·The chain ends are connected to the bicycle frame by nylon cables with pedals. An auxiliary pulley has been fitted to obtain an alternating pedal movement. Two guide wheels are mounted under the driver's seat 85 to obtain the correct direction of pull of the nylon cables from the pedals. See drawing 5
De rechterhand bedient de stuurknuppel.90 © · As can be seen from the overview drawings, the rider of this bicycle is resilient in the frame. The seat and the back are supported by canvas cloth. The legs are directed forward in the normal sitting position. The left hand operates the brake and gear handle. The right hand operates the joystick.
95 Aldus bereikt men een zeer ontspannen, comfortabele zit.95 You thus achieve a very relaxed, comfortable sitting position.
f. Finally, some experiences with the prototype (see also the photos). The speed of the prototype is that of a normal touring bike; with an average trained rider it is 18-20 km. per hour on the flat road without wind. Vibrations or 100 deformations in the frame do not occur during pedaling.
A disadvantage of the riding position of the rider, so also a disadvantage of all "recumbent bicycles", is that only the leg muscles are used for locomotion. A normal cyclist uses more body muscles to strengthen the pedaling movement.
When moving or turning the bicycle, the bicycle is easily carried with two hands, walking in the frame.
Evenals andere toepassingen, zoals driewielers, invalide- 110 wagens, motorisch aangedreven mini-voertuigen, vehikels in ruw terrein, derde-wereld toepassingen, etc.The weight of the prototype is 16.5 kg. Faster and lighter structures are conceivable with this triangle-frame principle. As well as other applications, such as tricycles, disabled 110 cars, motor-driven mini vehicles, rough terrain vehicles, third world applications, etc.
g. The bicycle got the fantasy name "CHA-CHA BIKE" = "Charming-Chair Bicycle".
