Abstract

The plate is of composite material, having transverse cuts in the insulating material, one at least of which extends as far as the cladding, to allow easy folding for transit. Cuts (3,4) are formed on opposite sides of the plate middle, spaced apart for a distance equal to double its thickness. In the remaining portions of the plate and on opposite sides of the central cuts are further cuts parallel to them (5,6). The insulating layer (2) can have a number of shallow recesses (7), typically transverse grooves, not extending right through it.

Isolatieplaat van composietmateriaal.Insulation plate of composite material.

The invention relates to an insulating plate of composite material which has at least one cut in its insulating material which cuts through the insulating material up to the coating.

A known insulating plate of composite material of the above-mentioned type has a transverse incision just in the middle of the length and can therefore be folded together at half its length. These plates have the drawback that they are difficult to handle and have a small surface area. Therefore, coiled sheets with a number of transverse cuts were more successful because they have a deck area of up to about 5 m and thus meet the roofers' union guidelines.

In the meantime, the requirements for thermal insulation increased and the plates became thicker as a result. However, the rolled-up plates are now difficult to handle due to the significantly larger diameter.

The object of the invention is to provide an insulating plate of composite material with a thicker insulating layer that can be transported in a manageable form.

This is achieved according to the invention in that an incision is made on either side of the center of the plate, wherein these incisions have a distance equal to twice the thickness of the plate, while in each case the center of the remaining lengths of the plate are provided on either side of the cuts in the center a second cut parallel to the other.

A composite sheet thus formed can be collapsed into a convenient and manageable package and unfolded and placed on site 30 as easily as a rolled web.

The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing, in which Fig. 1-3 show subsequent steps in the folding together of an insulating plate of composite material.

A composite insulating plate has a • preferably water- and vapor-tight covering layer or covering 1 and an insulating layer 2, for instance of synthetic foam, 8202553 *. 1 * - 2 - mineral fibers, cork or similar material.

6.Two parallel cuts 3, 4 are cut near the center of the panel, cutting through the insulation layer to the cladding. The longitudinal pieces of the plate lying to the left and right thereof each have a second, continuous incision 5 and 5 respectively. 6.

Fig. 1 shows how the plate is first folded around the cuts 5 and 6. The package thus created and shown in Figure 2 is then bent around the incisions 3 and 4, so that the package ready for transport is shown in Figure 3.

With a usual sheet length of 5 m and a thickness of the insulating material up to 150 mm, this package has a thickness four times that of the sheet thickness, i.e. up to approximately 60 cm and a width of approximately 1.3 m, with a length of approximately 1 m. In order to facilitate placement, a number of shallow cuts 7 have been made transversely to the sheet, which do not extend up to the coating, but are broken through upon placement, so that strip by strip can be glued.
