Abstract

The trough (1) is intended for growing tomatoes and other greenhouse crops. It comprises a bottom (2), two side walls (3) and two end walls (4) and contains a growing medium (not shown). It is made of plastics, preferably poly-propylene, and the bottom is provided with a downwardly open U-section projection (6) which extends over the entire trough length and through the end walls. The side walls are provided with longitudinally spaced inward projections (7) whose upper faces are in the same plane as that of the projection. The growing medium consists of a rock wool or peat mat or the like supported on the projections (6,7).
