Abstract

The reinforcing rods are intended for securing (cross-wise) to the surface of a fabric sheet used as underlay for stones etc. placed on the bed or bank of a watercourse to prevent erosion. Each rod consists of a bundle of strips of material, such as edge strips of carpeting material, enclosed in a wrapping of waterproof material e.g. plastic foil. The carpeting material may consist of a base fabric with pile threads and e.g. latex backing. The longitudinal seams of the foil may be stitched or welded and the ends of each wrapped bundle are pref. sealed by caps.
