Abstract

The vehicle has at least two pairs of wheels (1a, b, 2a, b) suspended from the chassis (12, 13) via a tandem axle system. A torsion bar (3a, b, 4a, b) extends from an eccentric connection point of a member (5a, b, 6a, b) secured to the fixed portion of each wheel bearing. The other end of each torsion bar is connected, via a pivoted lever (7a, b, 8a, b) to one end of a swing lever (9, 11) which extends at right angles to the bar and is pivoted (14, 15) at its centre to a chassis beam (12, 13). Each pivoted lever (7a, b, 8a, b) may itself consist of two pivotably connected elements, at least one of which may have adjustable length.
