Abstract

The box is for packing items such as confectionery, iced cakes etc., comprising a bottom panel with sides at right angles to it, folded up into this position from the flat state before the packing operation, and which can be closed by a lid. The lid and walls are so arranged that a number of boxes can be assembled together in a rigid stack, the topmost box forming a handle. The lid can comprise sections (9) joined to the end walls (2) on one side and to handles on the other (11, 12). The sloping handle sides have slots (15), by which they engage with others (16) formed between quadrant-shaped cuts (17) in the sidewalls (4). The sections formed by these cuts engage in other cuts (19) in the sidewalls on stacking.
