Abstract

The heat exchanger is for mounting in the flue discharging the combustion gases from a central heating boiler, so as to pre-heat the water returning to the latter from the system. It has a heat exchange panel comprising one or more finned water tubes. It comprises a housing (1) with an inlet (7) for the combustion gases and an outlet (8) connected to the chimmey, and forming a straight passage for the gases between. The panel (10) is mounted in the passage so that the gases flow over its entire surface. The inlet (7) is situated so as to be kept free of condensate.
