Abstract

The lighting set includes a front-wheel driven dynamo (1), front and rear lights (2) and an auxiliary battery. When the dynamo voltage falls below a specific value, the relay closes contacts in the battery circuit and opens the contacts in the dynamo circuit. The reverse occurs when the dynamo potential is restored. A switch facilitates manual interruption of the battery circuit. Other components of the system comprise two capacitors, a resistor, a diode and a thyristor. The design represents an improvement over systems in which the battery assists the dynamo continuously.
