Abstract

Blow moulded polyethylene storage container is provided on on the inside of opposite walls with projections, which are interconnected by transversely extending tensile anchors. Pref. the containers are parallelepiped and the projections are ribs extending parallel to the longitudinal edges of the containers. Adjacent the anchors the ribs are provided with embedded bars forming a rigid bead and a slot through which pass the anchors. Alternatively, the beads may form supports for clamps which are attached to the ends of the anchors. For use as heating oil storage containers. Bulging of side walls in the outward direction is prevented, whilst the volume of container is not reduced to any significant extent.
