Abstract

A pneumatic tyre has an insert with an annular support. In the case of a burst, the tread is supported so that there is no damage to the cheeks of the tyre. During continued running, the tyre cannot strip off the rim, whilst in passenger cars, standard tyres and single piece standard rims can be used. The outer diameter of the annular support is less than the greatest internal diameter of the tyre and the inner diameter is greater than the outer diameter of the rim. On each side of the insert obliquely inwards and axially outwards projecting struts, on each side of the annular support, rests on the rim against the inside of the beads and can be moved elastically in the opposite direction.
