Abstract

The machine automatically fills troughs in a poultry house with food in grain or meal form. It comprises a frame (1) travelling along a guide above the troughs (13), and equipped with a food hopper (2) connected to down pipes (12), these latter discharging into or above the troughs. The pipes can be connected by a rotary shutter (9), typically in the form of a roller or auger in a housing. The auger receives the fodder via a central top opening in its housing (11) and transports it sideways to outlets, to which the down pipes are connected. It can have sections with right- and left-handed spirals.
