Abstract

The earthing terminal is for a rail, where an earth lead is clamped to the side of the rail support. The rail has two legs which are clamped on both sides of the connecting section of the earthing mechanism. The legs are fitted with contact elements and one of the legs has a means of preventing the penetration of dirt to the contact surfaces. The first leg (11) is fitted with a hinged contact support (16). The contact support is fitted with two contact elements (17, 19) which terminate in sharp edges. The axis of rotation (18) of the contact support is located between the contact elements. The second leg (12) is fitted with rigid contacts (20). The axis of rotation of the contact support is at right angles to the longitudinal direction of the top leg and parallel to the plane formed by the contact points.
