Abstract

The operation control system is for use with a dredger, loosening and removing spoil, having control units for the various motions, and measuring devices for values affecting operation such as load on cutter head and side winches, mixture speed and pipe vacuum. The control units are process regulators, and the system has a maximum-level selector with separate input stages for each of the signals from the regulators and a common output stage. This selects the signal with the highest level from the input stages, and passes it through in order to control the drive to one of the side winches.
