Abstract

The coupling device for rainwater fittings consists of an O-ring inserted onto a groove in the end of one pipe. The ends of the pipe is pushed into the next one and the joint held together by a buckle, typically of aluminium, and in the form of a half-ring. The length of the buckle is about 3mm greater than the length of the O-ring groove. The length of one pipe inserted into the other is about 2.5 cm. The bush holding the O-ring is about 12mm from the open end. The pipes, which are of plastics, differ in dia. at their ends by about 1mm.
