Abstract

The modification to an existing vehicle, particl a delivery van with tail gate, is intended to adapt the vehicle for one or more passengers is invalid chairs. It comprises removing the centre portion of the rear cross beam of the vehicle body frame (1) and of the floor to create a space capable of taking one or more invalid chairs behind one another. A new cross beam (18) is then fixed at lower level to connect the remaining portions of the original beams, and a gutter-shaped tray (29) is fixed in the floor opening and connected with the remaining portions of the original floor.
