Abstract

The mechanism accepts pieces of foil material (4), partic. thermoplastic bags being fed in a continuous flow, and depositing them to form a stacked bundle. It comprises a number of rotating drums (1) whose centres (10) move around a circular path (2). A supply station (3) is arranged by the side of this path and feeds one piece of foil each time to a drum when it passes. At least one receiving station (5) is arranged by the side of the path where the foil pieces are deposited by the drums. Drives rotate the drums and move them along the path. The arrangement is such that the drums roll on an imaginary cylindrical surface (7) such that the tangential velocity at the outermost point of each drum is zero.
