Abstract
Chain knit fabric formed on e.g. a Raschelle machine has stitches forming ribs in the wale direction. In certain regions the length of yarn floating between adjacent ribs is increased. Random designs can be easily formed in e.g. jersey or Delaware knitted fabrics. The yarns which float between adjacent ribs and are of increased length may be recurrent in the direction of the wale and may be arranged in groups.
