Abstract

The heated hollow roller comprises a sleeve with two end faces, rotated by a shaft and with one or more heater elements inside the sleeve. The latter can also accommodate a heat-transfer medium such as oil. In the space (4) inside the sleeve (1) there are one or more stirrer members (5) near the sleeve. During use, these move at a different angular velocity to the sleeve. They can be mounted on the periphery of a drum inside the sleeve, and which is fixed to the shaft (2) and fully closed, apart from one or more connections to an expansion vessel. The connection can comprise a pipe connected at one end to the space, and leading at the other through a bore in the shaft to the expansion vessel.
