Abstract

The hocking mechanism is for a number of parts sliding independently of each other, e.g. drawers in a chest. An arrangement limits the number slid cut at a time, using locking devices sliding in a guide for a limited distance, and each drawer has a locking member working with the locking device. The locking devices (10) are a set of similar components, accommodated in a sleeve (7), an insertion guide being situated between each pair of adjacent devices. There are a number of openings (9) in the sleeve, each accommodating a drawer, and the locking members are L-shaped levers (12), hinging independently of each other on a vertical axis. Lugs (6) on the drawers (4) swing the lever arms into the guides between adjacent locking devices as the drawers are pulled out, and back again as they are thrust in.
