Abstract

The machine for fruit sorting has a chain drive system with two hinged chains. Between the chains (1, 2) and above each flap (9) a freely rotating roller (10) is provided, the diameter of which is such that the speed of the roller is greater than the forward movement speeds of the chains. The rollers (10) have a rough surface, but the contact surface of the roller track is provided with an elastic surface material such as rubber or similar (11). The system is suitable for fruit which are otherwise difficult to sort, such as green peppers (paprika) which are arranged on a basis of thickness.
