Abstract

A fume cupboard is made in two parts. One part is the top back and sides of the cupboard and the other is the work surface with a rail for service connections. Hose connections, valves and sockets are mounted on the rail. The work surface and rail can be mounted after installation of the remainder of the cupboard. The sections can be mass produced to one design. The requirements of the customer are then met by adding whatever is needed to the service rail. This reduces delivery time. Maintainance on the service lines is simplified since the work surface and rail can easily be removed.
