Abstract

Filler necks of a synthetic material are welded to a tube of synthetic film fed through continuously, to make containers for fluids of the type referred to as "pillowcases". The filler neck has a flange and is pressed against the film by suitable tools, including heating equipment, so that a welded joint can be made between the flange and the film. In a first phase, an opening is cut practically instantaneously through the surface of the film inside the flange, so that the necessary electrical energy can be fed to the bottom stamp inside the tube of film. This bottom stamp acts as an anvil. The filler flange is pressed from above against the film and the stamp supporting it sufficiently long for a satisfactory joint to be made.
