Abstract

The materials handling device, with discharge to several conveyors, is especially designed for cylindrical containers or square boxes, and has a main conveyor belt feeding a number of side channels leading off the main belt at a small angle, and having blending guides to turn the containers into a number of parallel rows of side channels. The canalisation system for (n) channels requires a similar number of manipulators, detectors, counters and signalling devices. The counters may be used to check the number of containers in each channel prior to packing in a box or crate.
