Abstract

The arrangement comprises a housing secured to the steering column, which housing contains a pivotable lever extending outside the housing. In the non-operative position the lever is held parallel to the upper face of the housing whereby the steering wheel is freely rotatable. When pivoted through 90 deg. the lever extends between the spokes of the steering wheel, in which position it can be locked and all components of the locking mechanism are inaccessible. The pivot pin of the lever may be carried in longitudinal slots in two opposed walls of the housing, whilst the bottom of the housing or a raised portion thereof is provided with an opening to received the lower end of the lever when in the locked position.
