Abstract

The engine has a rotor with three cylinders arranged in star formation, containing reciprocating pistons whose movement is controlled by rollers in a cam groove of the engine. Air is drawn in below the piston by upward piston motion and compressed, via overflow ducts, above the piston. The piston is provided with a tapered projection working in conjuction with a combustion chamber. The forces acting on the inner surfaces of the chamber during expansion cause a couple on the rotor thus rotating it about its central axis. Exhaust and air cooling means are provided.
