Abstract

The mechanism is intended for removing a given number of sheets, particularly porous fibrous tissues, from a pile (11). It comprises a frame with container (10) for the sheets, a reciprocating slide comprising a support plate (4) and a separator plate (5), and a rotor (6) arranged between the two plates. The rotor is provided with axially spaced elements (18) which, at the end of the stroke of the slide, turn down the edge of the bottom sheet or sheets. The arrangement is such that, during the return stroke, the turned-down sheet(s) are separated from the pile by the separator plate (5) and drop down on to a conveyor.
