Abstract

A membrane filter has an inlet for feed, an outlet for concentrated liquid and a permeate outlet. Membrane units each have two membranes separated by a permeable support which connects with the permeate outlet. Baffles are placed between two membrane units to direct the liquid flow. The length of the liquid flow path is increased for a given membrane areas and the surface is used more effectively.
